Kane Williamson will be leading the Kiwis squad who will be played in the Cricket world cup 2019. Just few days ago New Zealand 15 Man squad has been released by their board and in that List Wicket keeper Batsman Tom Blundell was the surprise selection.
28 Year Old Wicketkeeper batsman of the Black Caps so far played only two test matches and started well by scoring a century on the debut game and also played recently three t20 games for the NZ sides and he will be pick as a backup keeper of Tom Latham for the England and Wales ODI cricket world cup tournament which runs from the 30 May to 14 July this year in 2019.
“The key for us was finding the right balance for the squad and making sure we had our bases covered for what is going to be a very competitive World Cup,” coach Gary Stead said.
“As a one-day unit we’ve been pretty consistent over the past few years and possess a very experienced group of core players, proven at the top level.”
Ish Sodhi also pick in the 15 man list as he will be facing tight selection battle with Todd Astle. As Mitchell Santer is the first choice for the team as he can bowl and bat too.
James Neesham and Colin de Grandhomme were named as the all-rounders, while the four frontline pace bowlers Trent Boult, Tim Southee, Lockie Ferguson and Matt Henry were never in doubt.
