Afghanistan cricket board has took over the captaincy from the Asghar afghan and given to Gulbadin Naib two month ahead of the Cricket world cup 2019 which played in England and wales.
Earlier just before the 2015 Afghan who took the captaincy from the Mohammad Nabi.
Since the Debut in the 2011, 28 Year old Gulbadin Naib has played total 52 ODI and he is good all rounder as bowls with seam and bats in the Middle order.
Not only in ODI Afghanistan team change the captain but also done the same for the Test and ODI too. as Rahmat Shah was apointed as Test captain while Leg spinner Rashid Khan named as a Captain of the T20 Afghanistan side.
In the Cricket World cup 2019, Rashid Khan will be picked as a Vice Captain of the side for the fifty over competition.
Ahead of the ICC world cup 2019, Afghan team will be tour Scotland and Ireland for the preparation of CWC 2019 and also played the Warm up Matches against Pakistan and England before moves to World cup Campaign where they face to Australia on 1st June.
